How Do I Enter Associate's Degree Programs in Administrative Support?

To be considered for associate's degree programs in administrative support, you need to have at least a high school diploma, although some admissions committees will accept a GED certificate instead. Schools may consider other factors as well, such as your GPA, class rank, preparedness for work in administrative support and grades in previous, relevant courses. You should also expect to submit standardized test scores, letters of recommendation and a personal essay. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), administrative assistants earned a median annual salary of $30,830 as of May 2010; the highest-paid professionals in this field made more than $46,430, while the lowest-paid took home $19,690.
