The College of Southern Nevada's 1-year welding certificate program can train you for entry-level work in the field. It can also prepare you to pass the AWS certification exam. Program coursework covers topics in blueprint reading, freehand sketching, welding safety procedures and welding equipment setup. If you're interested in pursuing an associate's degree in welding, this program includes 25 credit hours of general education coursework in addition to 41 credit hours of training in different types of welding processes and safety procedures. You'll also study blueprint reading, special techniques for welding pipe and plate, AWS codes and fabrication layout. This program can prepare you to pass the AWS certification exam as well.
