Two schools offer several programs in hospitality management near Indianapolis. Both schools are public: Ivy Tech is a community college and Indiana University - Purdue University a four-year school. Students interested in earning an associate's degree may choose between a degree designed to prepare you to work immediately upon graduation and another to prepare you for transfer to a four-year program. Students who would prefer to not take general education classes may earn a certificate in hospitality administration.

A bachelor's degree and a master's degree are offered by a local four-year university; students must earn a bachelor's degree in a related field to be considered for the master's program in event tourism. The baccalaureate program includes an internship. An accelerated program is available, as well, allowing qualifying students to graduate in as little as three years. The master's degree program requires the completion of 44 credit hours and includes a master's thesis prior to graduation.
