Kaplan University is a private university with undergraduate, graduate, and continuing professional education programs delivered through an online learning environment. Kaplan University offers more than 125 degree and certificate programs in arts and sciences, business and management, criminal justice, education, information technology, health sciences, nursing, and legal studies. In an effort to accommodate students who are active military, Kaplan University will consider military experience and prior relevant coursework for college credit. In fact, military students pursuing an undergraduate degree could be able to earn up to 75 percent of their credits through prior experience. Additionally, Kaplan University provides a flexible deployment policy for students who need it. Undergraduate tuition has been reduced up to 55 percent per quarter credit hour for active-duty service members and reservists. Veteran undergraduate tuition can be reduced up to 38 percent per quarter credit hour. Reduced tuition for graduate-level programs are also available, as is tuition reduction for military spouses. Kaplan University participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program and is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium (SOC).
To help make getting an education more affordable, Kaplan University has several scholarship opportunities available to qualifying students who are enrolling for the first time. Those who have already earned college credit elsewhere could receive Prior-Learning Scholarships worth $500 to $750 each term, resulting in a maximum savings of $12,750. Kaplan University also offers other grants and scholarships to first-time enrollees that can also result in savings of up to $12,750 as the student saves between $250 and $750 per term.
