Students can learn about the analysis and application of health care research to nursing education and health care delivery systems, the use of biostatistical data to inform public health programs and policies, and research models used to help minimize gender, race and socioeconomic health disparities in the community. Coursework includes an examination of the design and delivery of health care systems in the United States and around the world, issues that hamper the effective delivery of public health services, public health administration and financing, and methods for assessing, controlling and preventing environmental hazards. Students must complete an evidence-based research project and an 80-hour practicum.
