The University of Phoenix online Associate of Arts with a concentration in Health Care Administration program offers a liberal arts curriculum with introductory courses in health and health care. Students of this program have the opportunity to learn about health care terminology, procedures relating to health care financial reports, communication methods in health care, the history of American health care systems and the psychological impact of health problems. They will also have the opportunity to use specific recording software to study and practice words used in the health care field. Required electives are also taken in mathematics, social sciences, communications, physical sciences and humanities.
You should have some experience or interest in working in a health care environment, such as a hospital, clinic, or health management organization. Applicants to University of Phoenix programs should have a high school diploma or GED.
Once enrolled in the Associate of Arts with a concentration in Health Care Administration program at University of Phoenix, you must complete 60 credits to earn this degree. Courses are nine weeks in length and are taken in complementary pairs. The program is offered in two tracks. Track A is for students with 24 or more transfer credits, and Track B is for those with less than 24 transfer credits. Track B students follow the University of Phoenix First-Year Sequence.
