Students of the Bachelor of Science in Health Administration with a concentration in Health Information Systems program at University of Phoenix have the opportunity to study various topics in health care and learn concepts and techniques relating to health care systems, networks and databases. Program course work addresses project management, database administration, software development, information systems implementation and telecommunication systems. Foundation courses are offered in health care terminology, health and wellness, ethics, financing and quality management. The program is offered online and at some University of Phoenix campuses.
You should have some familiarity with computers and experience or interest in working in a health care environment. Applicants to University of Phoenix programs should have a high school diploma or GED.
The 120 semester-credits (124 for Kansas residents) needed to earn the Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration with a concentration in Health Information Systems includes 42 credits in foundation courses and 18 credits in the area of concentration.
